Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, celebrates the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States. While the holiday is celebrated on Sunday, June 19, County offices and libraries will be closed Monday, June 21 in observance.

“Our celebration of Juneteenth reminds us of the fundamental promise of America. We remember how we have steadily marched as a nation in the direction of justice and equality, even as we endure and overcome setbacks. I wish our entire community a very happy Juneteenth!” – Mayor Daniella Levine Cava
